Thanks El for letting us use your car for 12 days...

Thanks Mak and Auntie for everything... Rahimah still owes us a dinner at Chicken Rice Shop...
Bye everyone!!

Day 13: Bye-bye BP, hello KL and awesome friends...

This trip to Malaysia was rather memorable due to the fact that we get to see and hang out with most of our friends at Penn State, and it was also the last trip in a long time (hopefully) with just the two of us. This day was no exception.

We started off in the afternoon after lunch from Batu Pahat. Last family photo in Batu Pahat. Thank you Mak/Ayah for such a wonderful time in Batu Pahat. Can't wait to come home again.

In Kuala Lumpur, we first stopped by Mak Long's place in Kota Damansara to drop off some luggage - then off to Shah Alam to Chineh's house. We haven't met his daughter and wife yet - first time since they got married a few years back. Ranjit showed up too! He just got a shiny new job at Petronas in KL and currently undergoing 3-wks of intense training. He wasn't sure if he could make it (but he did!). It was also awesome to see Ranjit again - he's having so much fun haha...

After an hour and a good sales pitch on my Intel X25-M SSD (Solid State Drive... I know...) it was time to go. Aim and Kechik wanted to come but was stuck in traffic - so they couldn't make it. We had a good conversation over the phone though... and they sound pretty well too. Wish you all the best of luck, and thanks for allotting a little time in your busy lives to see us... Until next time...

PS: Chineh got us some Laksa Penang from the local pasar malam, it was surprisingly good! First laksa of the trip...

Day 12: Aishah's long time friend...

Faradilla and her family lives in BP - she was in town to meet Aishah. They were close friends back in High School/Elementary school. She was so excited to see Aishah, that - she asked her mom to cook nasi minyak and all the common 'kenduri' lauk2 for us. It was so so so good. Best nasi minyak I've had (better than catered). She was attended by her fiance Azwan, and her mom. Rahimah (Aishah's sister) came with us (took the photo below). Thanks for the great hospitality - we'll indeed come again next time.

Aishah and Faradilla

Alamak, forgot to take pictures of nasi minyak... this dessert will do - favorite of Sultan Johor katanya...
Overall a full and enjoyable night.
