Turkey day!

Our first Thanksgiving holiday away from my beloved family… We left the turkey in the fridge for 3 days, only to find out that the turkey was still half frozen when we were ready to cook it.  It took another 4 hours to thaw out completely.  Dinner was at 11 pm instead of 7.  Ah, first turkey without Mak or Ayah’s physical help– it’s ok I guess. It was also a little overcooked, we didn’t measure the legs temperature correctly and left it in the oven 15-30mins too long.  Thanks everyone for helping out by answering a lot of last minute questions!  Enjoy the pictures!

DOTA 2.5

FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT...zzzz [sleep].
Wasil Dan v. Jon Amin
Amin Dan v. Jon Wasil
Amin Dan v. Jon Wasil
Amin Wasil v. Jon Dan

In a game of all intel chars, it was a battle of wits. Dan was intelligent enough to get orchid malevolence for its silence properties (ahem.), which prevented jon from booming him as he did to Wasil. Wasil mainly played terrible as usual, doing decent in supporting 6 of dan's kills. Amin just killed things and had a favorable K/D rate, but it wasn't enough for Dan & his minions. MVP=Danthelion

Continuing a game from quite awhile ago, Amin pretty much pwned face with Spiderbeast. Really. The lifesteal+speed boost+dmg boost made it impossible for not burst to kill him. That, coupled with the Snipah led to a good win for the Sents. MVP=Amin
An pretty balanced match on the onset quickly leaned in favor of Clinkz the Bone Shatterer—literally. Boom went the dynamite as he owned after he got butterfly, pewpewpew was the name of the game. His movement speed and invis allowed him to survive jon's explosiveness. Amin provided an encore with his seemingly powerful aoe. MVP = Dan

A relatively quick game was slightly stalled by Daniel, who got somewhat powerful at the end. However, the advantage built early on by Amin's Voidwalking team was too high to surmount for the Scourge. Jon and Wasil basically played pattycake with each other, Cow v. Lembu. MVP=Amin
Rank/W/L/T/STRK/%—MVP count

dota 2.4

Yeah, people went out, but we played anyway.

This battle featured Wasil the Lightning Bug, Dan the Bipolar Monstrosity, Amin the Sandman, and Jon the Randomly Invis Girl. Wasil took control of the game with his speedy movement, allowing him to chase down the opponents quite easily. Amin, with his Sandman, hid at opportune times since he's a wimp like that. It only helped him to have 9/7, not enough to win. As seen by both assist counts of 7 by the Scourge, they quite frequently doubleteamed the opponent. Not this time! MVP = Wasil

What looked like an easy win became a long battle that ended in a loss for the Scourge. Amin took control after getting butterfly because of his infinite clones and invisibility. Jon's geomancers couldn't do the job, and Wasil was sitting duck as a intel bird. MVP = Amin

Early advantage got switched around, as Dan became uberpowerful and hit a lot for whatever reason. Hamzah and Wasil provided the firepower, while luqman provided early pwnage and heals. Not enough to win though. MVP= Dan

Rank/W/L/T/STRK/%—MVP count
1. Hamzah-5/1/6/+2/0.833—4
2. Dan—6/3/9/+3/0.666—3

I have introduced a new stat, the STRK or streak stat. As you can see, Dan increases his win streak total to 3.

DotA 2.3.5

One full battle, and a partial battle leaning heavily towards Amin and Dan...

Amin Jon v. Dan Wasil

In a battle between two powerful Sentinel chars against Danny the Fire Slayer and Goblin Funnies, the Sentinel grew too powerful to fend off. Wasil's explosives couldn't match well against his opponents' many stuns, and Dan could only do so much. Wasil needs to learn how to use his items, he really sucks at doing that. Amin became a co-MVP by taking out 200+ creeps and maintaining a favorable survival rate against the Scourge. I had to give Dan co-MVP because of his ability to take control of the majority of the game, despite Wasil's suckability. To have a 11/5/1 against two stunning, time-stopping, melee, invis-inducing people is pretty good, even if it came from instant pwnage. Plus, the 3 towers taken down signifies his pushing ability, even if the creep kill didn't.

Warcraft III regular...

We should play this sometimes… I miss it.

DotA 2.3

Combination of two days of battles, (only two full battles though :( )

Hamzah Wasil v. Luqman Dan Jon
Wasil Jon Dan v. Amin Luqman Hamzah

Finishing the game from before, it was leaning towards the Scourge team with their team makeup of Centaur and Axe. Jon led the Sentinel team as he went 7/4/7, which is actually really good, especially noting the fact he took out Wasil 4/0. However, the combined might of Wasil and Hamzah delivered too powerful of an attack, as both tallied more than 15 kills. Dan died 18 times, which is the most in recent history. Luqman did fairly well fighting Hamzah, but he couldn't replicate his success against Wasil. Hamzah takes MVP with 280 creep kills, 21 kills, and 8 deaths.

In a game abruptly disrupted by Luqman's ePC failure, the Scourge team was driving to victory. Jon provided quick firepower, Dan provided speed across the field, and Wasil provided the quick (and OP) kills. Hamzah's aoe thing was powerful, but not good enough to beat the team. Wasil gets MVP for 17 kills and only 4 deaths.

DotA 2.2

Massive 3v3 for once :O
Battle between the brothers and the cronies...
Amin Hamzah Luqman v. Jon Dan Wasil

Matchup of powerful characters...Hamzah pretty much facerolled the other team, as he used his cooldown everytime he could, even when it wasn't up :P. It was even more effective [the chain frost] because the Scourge team would often have a pair together, so he would just have it bounce between two people and boom, DOUBLE KILL. Amin and Luqman combined to have a littany of stuns and slows, although, personally, as Oblivion, the silence proved to be the deadliest. Jon did very well in combating and fending off the troops, but at the end, he was unable to match up against the status-changing effects from the duo of Amin/Hamzah. Dan was more of a support character, but he scored the most "kills from the grave" i have ever seen in a game. I was on a roll until they started doubling me and silencing... Teamwork was definitely part of the Sentinel team's plan, as seen by the cumulative assists (21). MVP = Hamzah, for pwning people left and right (literally)
p.s. Good job to luqman for playing a good game

Rank/W/L/T/%—MVP count

Hamzah stays perfect, luqman gets his first win in awhile!

DotA 2.1.5 (Season.Version)

In the afternoon after a half-day, there happened to be some dota games. Dan couldn't finish the first game because of work (aka didn't want to luz), but two more battles ensued afterwards.

Wasil Hamzah v. Jon Luqman
Jon Hamzah v. Luqman Wasil

A heavily lopsided game decided in 21 minutes, Hamzah's Slayer and Wasil's Druid dude provided a quick and lethal offense, with immense firepower and pushing strength early on. MVP's=Hamzah & Wasil
Disclaimer: This game was an older version, and thus some OP people are even more OP. Case in point, Hamzah's Luna person. The game before, the spell didn't do nearly as much damage; but as amin knows (pwning me with the same guy in an old version), the Luna Moonrider person was incredibly powerful in this version. He was able to take out the Sentinel players in 3 bursts of aoe (worse than a WoW raid boss), effectively owning the game. Luqman, with his stealth assassin, had the novel idea of having radiance while being permanently invisible, but it was easily countered in the 2nd half of the game by a simple Orb of Seeing Eye (right name?). Jon provided some entertaining encore with his relatively weak goblin dude who filled in decently as a support character. MVP = Hamzah

Rank/W/L/T/%—MVP count
1. Hamzah-2/0/2/1.000—2
1. Dan—2/0/2/1.000—1
3. Wasil-2/2/4/0.500—2

DotA 1 SEASON 2 ZOMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

after 5 months of clashing, it is finally time to retire the old DotA rankings. They have been reset to create a picture that better reflects our current acumen. Also, there is the potential of newcomers. Keyword: potential.

Wasil Dan v. Jon Amin
Dan Amin v. Jon Wasil

Wasil controlled this game with his early kills with Tidewalker; however, the combined efforts of Jon and Amin were able to effectively stall a loss for quite awhile. The Sentinel team played quite well with 4 or less deaths each. MVP=Wasil

This game was the battle between extremely powerful characters, except Jon's perhaps. Jake Drake and Wolfaxx (the new nickname for lycanthrope) proved to be too lethal to fend off, especailly Wolfaxx's ultimate ability that rendered him super powerful, super quick, and super stunning. Stats-wise, the game was balanced, but it ended with a succession of kills by the Scourge team. MVP = Dan
I am now introducing an MVP stat, which is awarded to clear dominators (over everyone else). There will be times where co-MVP's and no MVP's will be declared, but that will be rare. Any protests of an MVP award can be made by commenting on the respective post.
