He’s learning to grab the toys on the play mat. And he looks fascinated with his surroundings. Way to grow, Fayyad!

Here are some photos of Feyruz with the same outfit when he was 2 months old. For me, he looks different from Fayyad. What you guys think?

Fayyad Turns Two Months

He currently weighs 11lbs 14oz. Sangat bam bam!

He starts chatting, smiling & cooing a few days ago.

Taken just before he got his 2 months vaccine shots. Kesian… Now he’s down with a fever.

They usually didn’t play together. But when they did, oh my, it was so noisy and all over the place.

Feyruz got really excited playing with Cik Hana. His closest buddy :)

Feyruz just discovered his Pak Tih. Took him one day to realize that that was the guy who mandi sungai with him back then in Msia,

SSD strikes again! Impressive performance in the T60!

Intel SSD 330 (180 GB) was received in the mail last week and added to Aishah's 'square' laptop - Lenovo ThinkPad T60.

The laptop has had a lot of upgrades over the years, including:

1. RAM to 3 GB (from 2 GB)
2. HDD to 200 GB 7200 rpm (from 60 GB 5400 rpm)
3. Screen to 1600x1200 (from 1024x768)
4. CPU to T7600 2.33 GHz Core 2 Duo (from T2400 1.83 GHz Core Duo)

Now, the HDD will be upgraded to 180 GB SSD.  The laptop is quite old (sporting SATA 1.0 @ 150 MB/s Max) - so the full potential of the SSD (SATA 3.0) will not be seen here.

As you can see, the new hard drive is pretty much hitting the limit of the SATA 1.0 at ~ 120 MB/s.  For everyday usage, Random Seek + RW is what you really want to look at - and this drive is around 40x faster than the old drive!

Hopefully it will give the laptop a couple more years - since Aishah is still very much in love with her 'square' laptop.  :)

Welcome Our Little Boy Fayyad Nooruddin

He was born on April 21, 2012 at 6.31am. His birth weight was 7oz and his height was 20”.

The nurse cleaned him and checked his vital before handing him to me. He stopped crying when he heard my voice. We are overjoyed to have him here at last.

Amin brought Mak Tok & Feyruz that afternoon to see the baby. Feyruz was a little shy at first. He kept his head under the pillow a few times.

At last he gently touched the baby. Yeayy!

 
This little one looks a bit like Feyruz when he was born. But he doesn’t like pacifier that much. While Feyruz was on pacifier almost all the time, this guy takes pacifier for a brief period only.

On the 2nd day, we named him Fayyad Nooruddin.

New Haircut

Since our trip back to Msia, Feyruz is due for another haircut. He was doing great halfway thru, but then when he started crying and getting all worked out, Amin kinda butchered his hair. Oh well…

It’s ok Feyruz, it will look much better in a few weeks hehe..

As you can see from the look of the grass & plants, Spring’s already here.. but it felt like almost summer. 80s degree in late March.. ouch! We are starting to work on our lawn. There are a lot of bare patches and weeds that need to be taken care of. And the obvious.. cutting and trimming the grass.

Took a while to get the mower started. Curious Feyruz was all over it.

Soon when you are older, Abah can give you $5 for mowing the lawn

Visiting Wichita Zoo

A few weeks ago, Feyruz started recognizing animals and the sound they make. When we watched TV or when we went outside, he got really excited when he saw a dog or bear or fish. And he started calling them.

So last weekend, we decided to go to the zoo in Wichita. It was quite chilly that day.

Amin had to pull him from following the ducks. “Feyruz, you can’t swim!”

Petting farm. Once, he tried to poke the lamb’s eyes. Aiyoooo…
We showed him cows, horses, goats, camel among others. Feyruz got really excited!

Spent 2 hours there, and we only saw half of the animals in the zoo. Okay save for the next visit!
