Fall Festival

There are a lot of festivals held this month around KC. I’m not exactly sure why when Fall comes, it is kinda a celebration around here every weekends. We went to a couple of kids’ friendly event, turned out Feyruz had so much fun.

Feyruz was initially confused by this! He couldn’t figure out where Abah was, or how to get to Abah. Took a while for Abah to explain to Feyruz about the maze. When he finally saw the maze as a puzzle, he got excited to find the way in and out. Cool!

Feyruz first pony ride. He was so excited to see the pony that he wanted to ride on it. All by himself. Kinda surprise me how brave he was.

Fayyad is 6 months old Today

Happy 6 months baby! Fayyad is so playful. He recently shows tremendous affection towards his brother. I’ll show the video of them some other time. But he is still a bit shy with his Abah.

P/S: Feyruz is so talkative nowadays. He likes to count 123, sings ABC and other nursery rhymes, and yesterday he said his first sentence ‘Moon is hiding’.

Fayyad @ 5 1/2 Months Old

His weight is already 16 lbs! Feyruz was 8-9 months old when he was at the same weight.

Fayyad just started talking ‘ma’ and ‘ba’ two weeks ago. But he still hasn’t sit up yet. His doctor says that will be his next milestone. Oh and his bottom teeth is coming out soon. I can already feel it while nursing him.

His favorite new toy is the jumperoo. He knows how to turn the wheels and shakes around.

Lompat.. lompat.. lompat!

The only problem with Fayyad is that he’s itchy too, but not as severe as Feyruz. I initially used some of Feyruz’ cream to treat the rashes on Fayyad’s skin. It works very well, but the rashes keep coming back a few days later. After having a discussion with his doctor, I decide to stop taking egg for now, since I noticed Fayyad rashes flared up whenever I ate egg. Now it’s been a week since I ate egg, and I can see his skin looks much better now. It just that he keeps scratching as much as before. I’m not sure how to make him less itchy. The doctor won’t prescribe any antihistamine until he is 6 months old.

Anyway, he was fussy with the milk/milk products when he was a newborn. So my next trial is to stop taking milk too. Well this is kinda difficult for me because I love pizza and chocolate! I won’t give up milk now, but soon when I’m ready.

When the weather outside is nice and breezy, we spent some time at the deck. Here’s what Feyruz loves to do:

Hooree hooree.. next I tried to show him how to walk like a duck, but he was clueless LOL.

Apple Picking at Alldredge Orchard

This year we went to a different farm located at the country side north of Kansas City. The orchard was not well maintained actually. Lotsa rotten apples, bees and bugs around the area. I got scared a couple of times when Feyruz walked thru the bushes and under the apple trees wondering if he got bitten or something. So after a while, I took Fayyad and Feyruz to the farm while Amin picked the apples all by himself. Took him an hour to get a bucket full of apples!

The farm and playground were much more exciting. They have a lot of chickens (I really meant a lot, like 50s of them running around), kittens, goats and a pony. Feyruz was so ecstatic to see all those chickens. And he kept running around with the chickens. He even tried to get into the chicken coop! Sabar je laaa..

We bought a big bag of Jonathan apples and those mixed apples that Amin picked. Some I made apple pies.

Feyruz Skidoo!

Too much watching Blue’s Clues nowadays. Before, Feyruz just watch whatever Steve/Joe/Blue does on the show. Recently, he tries to imitate the singing and expression and everything else they did on the show. So when Joe & Blue skidoo, Feyruz also wants to skidoo. One time I saw him put a piece of paper with picture on it on the floor. Then he does the skidoo thing. And he did jump on the picture. Funny! Sometimes when he watched Joe skidoo, he pointed to our picture frame as if he wanted to skidoo into it. Adoii too much imagination.
